TASTING NOTES
By nose: Great complexity with touches of pineapple, melon, green apple, kiwi, and yeast. By mouth: Minerality, pineapple, lime, and a gentle mouth feel (a result of extensive batonnage).
VINEYARD NOTES
2016 is an exceptional vintage. This bottling represents seven individual blocks on the estate giving it wonderful complexity.
WINEMAKER NOTES
A distinguishing characteristic of this wine is that it is fermented in barrels with water bent (in stead of fire bent) staves, which gives a much softer oak component. Our Estate Chardonnay is a classic food wine. Try it with thyme – roasted chicken with buttermilk mashed potatoes and a salad of baby greens. Salmon rillettes on buttered brioche would be a perfect hors d’oeuvre.
