Dear Friends & Family, I am very excited and proud to announce the release of the new vintage of Gratitude. This is our fourth vintage of making this limited production bubbly. $5 for every bottle sold goes to the Redwood Empire Food Bank.
It is vintage 2013, freshly disgorged, after six plus years en tirage, making it tête de cuvée, top of the line, caliber, demonstrated by the tiny bubbles. It just seems so fitting right now – for Thanksgiving and as an expression of how we feel. We are very lucky here at Iron Horse, knock on wood, and really, very deeply appreciative.
Wine Club Members, a bottle of Gratitude is included in your November wine club shipment. As you know, this is the only time it discounts with the special perk that you can reorder at that price for thirty days.
If you are not yet a club member, please sign up today.
I am not sure Iron Horse has ever looked more beautiful. Laurence has had the whole property cleaned up – getting rid of years of wild growth, primarily for safety reasons and in the process opening our views so you can fully appreciate the lay of the land.
We are also enjoying a tremendous pumpkin crop. Mainly a type called Autumn Gold, prized for being well rounded, exceptionally tall, green, crook necks, that standing up look like penguins, and all kinds of gords.
We have also reaped a Wonderful crop of recent reviews from Wine Spectator, including this beautiful description of 2016 Wedding Cuvée that will appear in their annual bubbly report.
Finally, I want to share with you a very sweet moment: My mother meeting her great grandson Calvin. She is telling him, "I am your great grandmother," and, as you can see in the photo above, he is clearly listening.
Have a fun and safe Halloween. It is going to be a blue moon.
And, please inspire everyone you know to vote early. As of today, 60,507,338 Americans have voted. In California, we are at 30 percent of the 21 million registered voters in the state.
With all our very best,
