2009 Native Yeast Chardonnay
Winemaker David Munksgard found distinctly different yeast strains at three of our top Chardonnay blocks at Iron Horse. He fermented each block separately, then blended them together to make this wine, which Wine & Spirits Magazine describes as “… a combination of depth and delicacy … on the level of a Grand Cru.”
Morrel mushrooms, roasted onions, rich, grilled fish (king salmon, swordfish), wood roasted game birds, cream sauces, bacon, Gruyere macaroni and cheese.
New vintage, not yet reviewed. The 2005 vintage was awarded 94 points in Wine & Spirits and named one of their “Top 100” wines of the year.
Total production: 295 cases.
