2003 Estate Chardonnay
2003 is a great vintage for Sonoma Chardonnay, especially from Green Valley and one that confirms that Iron Horse is mastering this variety. It exemplifies Green Valley with multi-layers of complexity, finesse and most importantly, exceptionally bright, exciting, zingy flavors that make you say "Wow!"
This wine has a freshness and vivacity that makes it especially great with food. Enjoy with rainbow trout, sole, halibut with mushrooms and asparagus, salmon, steamed lobster, lemon roast chicken served with jasmine rice, veal, anything with a cream sauce, goat cheese, walnuts - in other words, as often as possible.
90 points in Wine Enthusiast; 88 points from Wine Spectator. Wine Enthuasist has awarded Iron Horse Chardonnay 90-plus point ratings for five consecutive vintages and named winemaker David Munksgard one of the "classic" Chardonnay producers in the state. The 2001 received a 90-point rating in Wine Enthusiast and was named "One of the Top Ten Bottles" in Food & Wine Magazine.
